This 31,000 square foot addition to the existing museum involves a combination of renovation and new construction. The expansion opened to the public on October 19, 1999. The addition houses galleries, office space, classrooms, and staff workshop and storage areas. Ann Arbor, MI.

photos show the new entrance lobby, which provides space for groups
to gather together before or after visiting the museum. The color
blocks from the exterior continue into the lobby, and set the
tone for the interior color scheme.
