The local chapter of the American Red Cross had significantly outgrown its previous building, and wanted to combine its headquarters facility with the local branch of the Biomedical Services (blood donations) unit. An innovative land exchange with another business allowed construction of a new building to meet the Chapter’s expanding needs. The new facility combines offices, classrooms, blood services, storage, and a vehicle garage. The building layout meets the complicated needs of these multiple uses, each with its own security issues and operating hours.
